What I’ve Read (so far in 2017)

At the end of last year, I made a list of goals I wanted to achieve for 2017. After neglecting myself most of 2016, I wanted to ensure that I spent the coming year taking care of myself. One of the ways I love to practice self-care is to read. I wanted to create a habit and become an avid reader. I made a goal to read 20 books in 2017. For me, this seemed outlandish. I would start books and then never finish them or I would make excuses as to why I couldn’t read (either during the day or after the kids went to bed). I wasn’t taking the time to indulge in reading. I didn’t think it was possible while taking care of my 2 kids.

It is possible, I just needed to let go of the unnecessary guilt I was placing on myself.

Halfway through 2017 and I have far surpassed my reading goal. I have read 25 books so far this year.
