Wild in the Hollow

I shared my July goals here. I set the bar pretty low for goals, I’m still trying to get a feel for what I want this space and my writing life to look like. I keep saying that, but I am lacking inspiration and, honestly, doubting my abilities. Even though I want to give up and quit, I am not going to. I’m doing this for me and when I lose sight of that is when everything seems to start falling apart.

I’m trying to be more intentional with my time and more intentional with my efforts. So often I fail to put everything I have into what I’m doing. I think that maybe if I don’t give it everything that I have, when it fails I’ll know why. And I don’t want to live like that anymore. But fear keeps me small and I’m doing all that I can to change that. I am trying to learn all that I can about creative non-fiction. Even though I was an English major in college, I don’t have much knowledge about what it is all about. So I’m diving into books and blogs and newsletters and learning everything I can. And I am continuing to put myself and my words out there. I’m keeping faith that, even though I feel so uninspired right now, the right words are making their way to me. But I can’t stay quiet, I have to meet them half-way.
